Welcome to the 2015 Season.

First off, welcome to our new blog; we'll be posting information about beautiful San Juan County; its various towns and cities; as well as sites to see as you travel around the area.  In addition, we hold monthly Cultural Artisan Expos which feature local artists such as Scott Mitchell - Blacksmith; Melinda Redd - Photographer and Jewelry Crafter; Dan Raisor - Author; Jeff Hanson - Master Saddler and Leather Crafter...and many more.

The Frontier Museum features many displays of Native American culture; the Pioneers who opened up the Old West for settlement; Marie Ogden and her "New Age" cult, The Home of Truth; as well as samples of minerals, dinosaur fossils, farming equipment and gear belonging to that American icon, the Cowboy.

Next to the Frontier Museum is the Big 4 Tractor Building; fully refurbished, the Big 4 runs in the Pioneer Day Parade yearly and assorted events throughout the Four Corners area.  It resides throughout the year inside its newly built home, prominently displayed behind huge windows for all to view.

Consider making Monticello, Utah your home base for traveling in the Four Corners area.  At the Welcome Center, we have information, not just on Utah, but the other connecting states of Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico.  From Monticello, we can map out one day trips for you and your family; enjoy an exciting day of adventuring, then come back to Monticello for a comforting dinner, and a restful night's sleep.

See you soon!!!
